Foundations of American Democracy Requirement (3 Hours)
Foundations of American Democracy Requirement Three (3) credits of Foundations of American Democracy (FAD) are required for degree completion. Courses that meet this requirement may also be used to meet other major, minor, or General Education requirements. Biology Major Requirements (67 Hours)
Not including 12 hours counted in General Education, above 2.0 major GPA is required for graduation. Major GPA calculation will include all courses taken in the major discipline, plus any other courses under Major Requirements. Minimum of 18 semester hours of courses taken to fulfill major requirements must be courses offered by Appalachian. Biology Core Requirements (8 Hours)
Must be completed before taking any other biology courses Additional Required Biology Courses (14 Hours)
Pre: BIO 1801 & BIO 1802 required for all additional BIO courses One of The Following Senior Capstones
Pre: Senior Standing; WID Ecology, Evolution, Environmental Concentration (38 Hours)
Courses with a BIO prefix in all elective sections, including Other Sciences, must be numbered 2000 and above. (Courses may only meet one requirement. Courses from BIO, CHE, CS, FER, GES, MAT (at or above the 2000 level only), PHY, STT (at or above the 2000 level only), PSY (except PSY 2200, PSY 3525, PSY 4019 or PSY 4020) or courses listed below may be chosen to bring total in Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Concentration to 38 hours.
