Foundations of American Democracy Requirement (3 Hours)
Foundations of American Democracy Requirement Three (3) credits of Foundations of American Democracy (FAD) are required for degree completion. Courses that meet this requirement may also be used to meet other major, minor, or General Education requirements. General Education Requirements (41 Hours) The science taken in Science Requirement of major fulfills part or all of the Science Inquiry. MAT 1110 fulfills the Quantitative Literacy requirement. Major Requirements (67 Hours)
not including up to 12 hours counted in Area I (General Education), above 2.0 major GPA is required for graduation. Major GPA calculation will include all courses taken in the major discipline, plus any other courses under II. Minimum of 18 semester hours of courses taken to fulfill major requirements must be courses offered by Appalachian. Computer Science (41 Hours)
Choose One Capstone
Must complete 3 hours minimum Computer Science Electives (12 Hours)
No more than three hours of C_S 4900 may be included in Computer Science Electives. No more than three hours of C_S 2530-2549 (Selected Topics) may be included in Computer Science Electives. Some graduate level classes may be chosen as electives with permission of the graduate school and the CS department. Science Requirement (8 Hours)
Complete a minimum of 8 credit hours from any of the General Education Science Inquiry course options. (Courses used to complete this requirement may also double count with the General Education curriculum.) Electives (12 Hours)
